wizard rock

Went and saw Harry and the Potters at the Moore Library last night. Almost didn’t get to go on account of our non-teen-ness, but earlier in the week an email to H&thePs themselves cleared that ridiculousness right up.

There were indeed lots of teens attending, and there was lots of rocking, bouncing, standing on chairs, and t-shirt-buying to be had.

I owe Katie 12 bucks or so.

We didn’t try to stay and make our way through the crowd of adolescence to meet the guys, but we did learn something very important: Voldemort can’t stop the rock sock.

I am crossing one project off of the “potential projects” list.

I am wearing a wooly hat with ear flaps, pom-poms, and cat ears.

Kittyville pattern.

I am telling myself that this is not necessarily a excuse reason to run out and buy more yarn asap.

Especially since I have the following little beauty singing to me from my desk-top.

Blue Moon Fiber Arts

“Make me a sock! Make me a sock!”

Sure thing *snuggle*

But anyway: Happy Weekend! Today will be a good day I think. Tonight I’m headed down to see a Harry and the Potters show with Mary, Katie, Rick, and friends. Rock and roll and Harry Potter dorkiness (mine, not H&theP’s) can’t be a bad thing.

she has progress!

Being thoroughly preoccupied with knitting (yarn, patterns, itchiness, colorways, hand-dyeing, plus crochet) actually has a use besides making sure I churn out lots of cute and handy knitted items. It is also a great motivational tool.

Off the top of my head, I’d say I have the materials and proper needle sizes for at least 4 knitted projects. (3 of which are pairs of socks, but I digress) If I happened to need to get something non-knitting done, I could use these potential projects as bait.

For instance: Yesterday I said to myself, “You may not knit until you work on your cross stitch some.” Because of this, today I can present to you a finished Earth dragon *cheers*

Previous progress pic here.

For the next few days I suppose I’ll be attempting to work a bit of stitching, knitting, and reading in each day. If I stitch during “couch time” after the kids are in bed and knit during the day, I can take breaks to read.

I have no clue how people that pick up each day and go to work actually get any hobby-time in. *Bows to working people.*
