Still slow going, but I press on despite a wee tummy ache. So… tired…

(Pay no attention to the kitty tail in the pic. Clapotis has outgrown our photo spot.)

tis Monday

Monday, February 13th, 2006

Well, the first few days of the Knitting Olympics have not gone exactly as I expected. Apparently I am not built to knit for long periods of time. I get distracted. Or sleepy.

The rows are much longer now too, so I’m just generally slower. I press on, though.

Here’s my Clapotis this morning.

Just about ready to form the 2nd corner.

Day One, Knitting Olympics, the Clapotis

pfb = purl in the front and back = really annoying stitch that is easy to forget at the end of the wrong side row

Ahem.
Due to errands, a certain car that has chosen to act up, and general sleepiness, I didn’t get as far last night as I would have liked.

But now I have a whole Saturday. Muahahahahaa!

This morning:
the bills will be paid
the kitchen will be cleaned up
Molly2 + respective yarn will be put away
Fortunate Traveler + respective thread will be put away
this week’s art journal entry will be (hopefully not too hastily) finished

Today are the opening ceremonies!

It is also Snapshot Friday.

I am sorta sad to put Traveler up. I was really excited to be making progress on him.

Tomorrow begins the Olympic Knitting updates! :)

Yep, I did indeed sign up for the

I am knitting Clapotis. So is Julie.
We’re both crazy, so we’re knitting them with yarn from Blue Moon Fiber Arts.
On size US4 needles.

Here is what mine looks like!

Check back often to see how quickly I lose my mind while trying to get it all done in the given time frame. *cheesy grin*

Anywho, before the big Olympic event begins I’ve been working to clear the slate. Sadly, I was only able to finish one of the pair of socks-in-progress. But it’s cute, so yay!

Molly1

(”Gryffindor” yarn by Two Waters.)
Isn’t she lovely? I will enjoy working on Molly2 at the Sit N Stitch tonight, before bringing her home to wait out my Olympic insanity.

Tomorrow afternoon! Eeee!

*A term formed by combining “knitter” and “athlete.” I believe it was coined by Cara.

So our little Sit N Stitch group went and crashed a Norman Fiber Arts League meeting last night.

Must. Not. Buy. Spinning. Stuff.

If you’re like me, you need a little distracting from the above goodies. Lucky it is internet wealth day! Here are some really cute things to look at:
Cats in Sinks
Kitten War
Petfinder

And some music to listen to while you peruse:

Posting Sunday Self-Portraits and want on the list? On the list and don’t want to be? Lemme know. :)

My self-portrait today is actually taken by me!

Yesterday I decided I’d head up to Gourmet Yarn to hang out for their Knit-In. (With Kay. Hi Kay!) I checked the website for times and noticed that they had a Magic Loop class just before that so I went for that too. I love my DPNs, I really do. But upon completing a baby sock on Magic Loop and then trying to go back to my current sock-in-progress (on 2 circular needles) I found that I was already hooked.

So, a Magic Looper I am. Catchy name, no?

a different-ish week

Friday, February 3rd, 2006

I suppose I’ll share my Friday Snapshot.

The kids enjoyed having their Grandma here with them this week. We played, went on a nature walk, shopped a little, ate out, and generally kept busy with fun stuff (well, and a doctor’s visit). Sadly, I hardly took any pictures the whole time. Bad blogger. Bad!

Thanks Grandma for hanging with us. Appreciate it ;)
