the state of my knitting
Posted on July 13th, 2006 at 11:46 amWell my kit for the Knit Sock Kit Swap is done and ready to go to the post office today.

As for Jamie’s sweater, well, when Shelly and I met Kay for some knitting last night, this is how the sweater looked:

And after a bit of reluctant gauge checking, and sheepish grinning, the sweater became this:

My gauge when I originally swatched for this was the 24 st./4 in. that the pattern called for. Sometime after I began the actual sweater, it became about 25 st./3 in. So we got to enjoy a little bit of sweater ripping, re-swatching, and I will start again sometime this week on 3.25mm needles. Yippee!

Aside from the massive frog that resulted from the swatch, you’re doing a damn good job with that fair isle crap! I’m still afraid and might never attempt it. Bergock.

That is a wonderful kit for your sock kit/knit/swap partner!
Jamie’s little sweater was beautiful, even though it turned out to be off gauge a bit. Well, the frogging was quite therapeutic for me…and I do wish we had a video camera to film it. I would have loved to have seen it played back in reverse.
I’m really glad you’ll get to do the sweater on size 3 needles now. Jamie will just love it when you have it completed!

judging from the sample you frogged, it’s going to be beautiful! Wonder how much farther than this you will be by next Thursday’s knitting!
