random updates: crafty and otherwise
Posted on August 29th, 2006 at 10:01 amFirst off, I have finished socks for the boy:

Yarn: More of that Opal “Parrot” that I first used on Jamie’s socks.
Pattern: Nope again. Same as Jamie’s but with a short row heel and anklet-short cuffs.
Comments: I think I’ve had my fill of the yarn for now, but I believe there is still enough for anklets when I feel like going back to it.
I put the finishing touches on something I made for the September swap at Harry Potter Crafts. If you’re my partner and don’t want to be spoiled, avert your eyes now.

Tis a wooden book-shaped box from one of the nation’s uber-large craft stores, painted in a somewhat Gryffindorish color scheme with “Gryffindor” in Mustard Moon stickers from a coupla seasons ago. And a miniature Weasley Sweater with a generic R-for-Ron duplicate stitched onto it. It’ll be in the mail shortly.
Cian has recently fancied himself an artist.

He and Jamie both have been really putting a lot of miles on that Magnadoodle.
As for Callie: Yep, she’s sick. We went to the vet yesterday.

The doc has ruled out a few things, but has been able to narrow down the possible problems quite quickly. There is definately something seriously wrong and we should know more by the end of the week. I have to say that the confidence and competence of a good vet is very much comforting when one’s kitty is sick.
That’s it for now. At the moment I’m trying to decide how to spend my day. Right now its between lots of crunches, or chess. Or both.

I hope you dont mind but I found your blog through Jill’s awhile back and I’ve been lurking…but I decided to come out of lurkdom to wish your kitty well!!! My kitty was very sick a few months ago and I know how stressful it can be! [and also thank you, because after serious jealousy over your knitting ability {and my non-ability}, I started knitting and LOVE it! :)]

Callie really has lost weight! I hope it’s nothing serious and that she’s back to her fluffy, scrappy kitty self soon. (((HUGS)))

My thoughts are with Callie - I hope that she is back on the healthy path soon! Love your Gryffindor boxes…perhaps one might be available on the black market… ; )

I hope you don’t mind me borrowing this idea. My Sockret Pal is a Gryffindor and I just must make her a Weasley Sweater to go with her Gryffindor Bookmark Scarf and Socks (human sized of course - it’s a sock swap). All I need now is the proper box. You are so creative. Not Slytherin heh? Must be GRYFFINDOR!!!
