Peacock Feathers Shawl
Posted on October 18th, 2006 at 11:43 amA proper Finished Object post. Pictures by the lovely Shelly.

Pattern: Fiddlesticks’ Peacock Feathers Shawl
Yarn: Jaggerspun Zephyr in Garnet on size 3 Addi Turbos, then KnitPicks Classic Circulars
Comments: I am in awe of this piece of knitting. Surely someone like me couldn’t have done this. It stayed in my lap as a big ole lump of yarn until I bound off and it was a totally different animal. Wow.
I also have to say that I’m glad I went down a needle size. Not only were the stitches nice and tinier, but the shawl *still* came out large. Nearly 80 inches wide and 40something from the top to the bottom tip.

Simply Gorgeous!!!!
I feel kinda like it’s Grandma. I babysat it a time or two and picked it up at *aftercare* occasionally. : )
Congrats!

Yes, Grandma Shelly did her grandmotherly duty by picking up the grandknit. :-)

Wow! It’s even more beautiful on you! (and I have to add, you are getting quite skinny). Gorgeous - both you and the shawl.

That’s what I think when I see that beautiful piece you knit, “someone like me couldn’t do that!” You’re a very brave knitter, and one day the inspiration will actually move me to knit rather than write.
