immersed
Posted on March 20th, 2007 at 1:57 pmSimple Knitted Bodice, now into the 5th ball (whee!), sits by while I work on non-knitting stuff this afternoon. Knitting to recommence this evening.
I have always been a mess. That is to say, I’ve always been one to completely immerse myself in whatever I’m doing. When I clean, I am covered in whatever I am cleaning with. During my short stint in dog grooming, I was always soaked head to toe and covered in hair and shampoo (and often other stuff). And of course, when I’m being arty, I become quite colorful.
Currently my hands are coated in gel medium, white acrylic, and india ink.
What’s on your hands today?

Well, I’m off to landscaping class, but no dirt for me until the snow melts. My terrible dinner will probably consist of jelly beans, so…sugar!

Today, my hands are a full-spectrum mess of acrylic paint and indoor/outdoor spray polyurethane. We all painted wooden birdhouses last night, and sealed them today. As soon as the rain lets up, we’ll hang them off the monster tree in the backyard!

Currently, chicken juices. Well, as of a few minutes ago before I washed them, I mean!

Can’t wait to see what you’ve been working on with the ink. I love using ink.

I heard once “a true artist always makes a mess”. When I paint it always ends up in my hair.
