Happy Birthday

I’m glad to know for sure that, in his fictional plane, Harry is enjoying his 27th birthday. I think I will have to have some cake today.
As for what I think about Deathly Hallows… I’m still a little overwhelmed to have more than snatches of conversation about what went on, but I suppose I can say that my official opinion for the purposes of the blog is that I’m satisfied. Not disappointed. Happy. Touched. No (real) complaints. I don’t know that there is really much more to say because really? It’s done now; Canon is canon.
Although, I am excited at the (relative to prior years) torrents of side-information that Rowling is releasing. The series is over, but fandom and Harry Potter remains exciting.

I was so surprised to realize while reading Deathly Hallows that Harry is the same age as me! When I read that his parents’ gravestones said 1981 I did some quick calculations and about fell over. I never realized it all the time before because it’s taken so long for the books to come out that Harry’s aged 7 years in 11 years, real-time.
And I’m glad he’s around to enjoy his 27th birthday as well. :D
