crafting goes on

This week has been completely crazy. Kindergarten really is an effective monkey wrench in a homebody’s schedule. I don’t think I’ve ever spent this much time out of the house in one week.

I have managed to finish a few things though.

Scarf

Yarn:
Opal Rainforest Chameleon
Pattern:
Multi-Directional Diagonal Scarf by Karen Baumer
Comments:
I hate knitting scarves. I yawn the entire time. But they do generally come out nicely when you bother to stick with them. Several local folks have been seen knitting this pattern using sock yarn. I love the variations one can get.

Crocheted bag. The one that won me my sanity the other day when I couldn’t work on my afghan.

No pattern. Leftover Schaefer Lola (which Ravelry keeps insisting on calling Little Lola for whatever reason). Sewed in a lining. I love crochet; it’s quick.

I’m so tired. I think I will sleep for some hours this afternoon. This will also serve to keep me from rushing off to the bead store or a quilt store, like I’ve been itching to do all week.

Aah. Kindergarten! It’s so fun…and I loved that first day of school picture of Jamie! Soooo cute. I think that’s a great way to use Opal’s rainforest yarn! It looks fabulous as a multidirectional scarf. Very nice. I’m with you on the yawn factor with scarves though. I’ve got a branching out going that isn’t, well, going at the moment.

I used to call it “kindergarten prison” because I was a prisoner to the van and the school schedule…lol! Love your yarn-work!

Scarves can be a yawn, but your multi-directional with the fiber you used looks great!
You are right about Kindergarten…it seems one barely takes the kid and it’s time to pick up. Some schools in my area have gone to all day kinder instead of half day. Volunteer in the school office during some of that time. It makes the day whiz by and you can learn more about the people at the school.

What size needle did you use on your scarf? And how wide did you make it?

wool felt is 30% off at hancocks right now. I got a yard for under $5. I really like that scarf! I added it to my queue on ravelry.
