I reek of coffee.
Posted on September 5th, 2007 at 6:10 pmSince Jamie has been spending her afternoons at school Cian and I have, more often than not, spent the time between drop-off and pick up at Charlie Bean.
Yesterday after I picked Jamie up, we popped BACK in for “dinner” before I rushed off to knit in Norman. The dude that usually brings me drinks throughout the afternoon accused me of being a coffeehouse addict.
Then today when Cian and I arrived our normal 45 minutes before Jamie’s dismissal, the gal who also waits while I do told me that we really smell like coffee. And that it was a good thing. Well yes, there are certainly much worse things to smell like.
Then this evening as I worked on finishing up the toe of my current sock, I took a whiff and sure enough, even the knitting smells like coffee. They do tend to be roasting beans when we’re in there.
Anywho.. I said yesterday that I would pop in and show my knitting progress.
Here’s Cian’s gansey. I still haven’t charted the sleeves, but I intend to keep them simple so that part will be easy enough.

And my sock, which is actually a few rounds from done now.

BTW, this is a Cedar Dancing Sock from Cat Bordhi’s new book. Spiffing!
Now I’m going to go walk jog (I totally need to do a Rivendell update soon) and then have some coffee because I actually didn’t have any today. I just smelled like it while I drank tea.

I like your sock!
Do you knit both Tuesday and Thursday nights in Norman? I walked into a knit group Tuesday before last while checking out a new (to me) yarn shop in Norman. I didn’t get a chance to go back this week, but I hope to soon.

After you left a message for me at Ravelry (bevqw), I looked at your blog. We sat together for the Myrna Stahlman seminars at SWAK this summer. I was on your left– white(ish) hair. I don’t knit HP stuff, but boy have I devoured the books! Bev

Yep, I need to update Rivendell, too. We’re about to have another walking program at work, so I need to get busy with it.
I have exercised since my last update so I can probably spot myself 20 miles. I’m still pretty close to Bombadil’s place, though.

Oh and that sock? Fit PERFECTLY! Gonna have to make one someday.

Gansey’s looking good - sock, too. I’m not much of a sock knitter. I actually just finished my first adult sock ever yesterday. I’m withholding judgment on it as a hobby until I finish the pair.

I don’t think there’s any more divine fragrance than coffee. Aaah, the elixir of life. Beautiful knitting!

Is there a smell nicer than coffee? Norman has all the cute shops. No fair!
