Another Borg post is up (CLICK) but because I really don’t want to neglect this blog because I’m doing stuff over there too, I’ll share photos with you here. The hive only got video, peh!

Well actually first, I must mention that the Leaky Cauldron July Craft-Along (CLICK) opened today. Please go there and craft along with us! I’m hoping to get my supplementary video walkthrough up sooooon.

I made a needlebook the other day. I wanted to see if I could do it. I’m very pleased with it.

I also finished a gift for a really cool kid who’s special to me and happens to like Harry Potter.

I used block patterns by Jennifer / Ofenjen.

Also, I thought I’d share a cute drawing Jamie made. Her skills are getting much more refined. (It used to be all big-headed birds, all the time.)

I was going to do a crafty update of sorts, and then I remembered that today is my day for posting a CraftBorg video blog.
Go look.

I posted a video on the CraftBorg blog, for those that have been standing by for such a post.

Dear Julie,

I obviously have been too busy running about and having knitting marathons to sit still, be a decent friend, and pop onto the webcam for a chat. I’m sorry and hope to make it up to you this week, although I’ll probably knit while we’re at it. We need to record a show, too. Where the heck has February gone?

Love, Rose

PS, Here is my SPS straight from the webcam to tide you over, since Mondays are probably the worst for finding time to get on here and play around.

The most amazing thing happened this week. I had recording sessions for both CraftBorg, AND Fangirlin‘. I’m very ready to have Fangirlin’ back. So, here’s my self-portrait with headphones.

Saw John Mayer tonight. I’m very happy. Unfortunately when I’m totally overwhelmed with happiness about something, I never seem to be able to find words to describe it. But I’ll try sometime this week. Heeeeeeeee. *dies happily*

For my self portrait this week I tried to get a picture of my new earrings, bought at Simply Shell’s.

But it’s blurry, so here is a better shot:

I love them.

And just because- a shot from my walk in Middle Earth last night:

(Poor frozen trees.) Where I’m:

Camping and Eating and Drinking, and being seen by wildlife. (18 miles)

Oh, and live as of a little while ago:

CraftBorg, Episode Thirteen.

quietish and yet not

Hi there. How are you? Good? Good.

I kept feeling, all day today, that I should get on here and write. About what, I didn’t really know. I clearly continue to have no clue, as I’m several sentences into this post and still haven’t alluded to a topic.

Letsee. Knitting, yes knitting. Do I have progress? Nope. Nothing to report. I have spent a couple of hours a day on that super-secret project that seems to have quit growing at some point. I did knit on Hedwig1 for a couple of hours today and I am now in the toe, now that I think of it. So yeah, I am almost done with a sock. Go me!

No, I don’t have a picture. And it’s too dark to bother with that now.

So, reading. I’ve been excited about my resolution to read more. In my minds eye, I’m reading my books so fast that the pages are flying out of their bindings. To my real eye, however, I’ve made no progress on my current read since I added it to my sidebar last week sometime. I do want to read though. Really, I do.

At the moment I feel like I’ve been too busy to get around to things I intend to and, at the same time, wholly unproductive to the naked eye.

Perhaps I have an unrealistic idea of what can be accomplished in the span of a week. I haven’t really thought that my expectations were very high, but maybe I should rethink that. I would feel pretty good if I could spend some time at least weekly:

  • exercising
  • reading
  • drawing
  • knitting
  • working with the kids on preschool stuff
  • doing minimal housework
  • podcasting
  • I rarely get them all in. Even if 5 minutes of an activity were to be counted.

Anywho, I’m not really trying to complain. I’m actually pleased with most of what I’ve accomplished this week. Although I am frustrated by the stove top that is impossible to return to the bright-white I know it can be.

And I suppose I’m not a complete slacker. I did 2.5 miles last night, so I’m:

Walking through a deeply cloven track between tall trees, singing. (15.5 miles)

What on earth am I talking about? CLICK

I’m off to get a coupla more before we get recording for CraftBorg, Episode 13 tonight.

    yoyos

    Wednesday, January 3rd, 2007

I love random acts of craftiness. I got a little inkling this morning and within about 20 minutes I had 2 very cute fabric yoyo pins.

They’re so quick and easy, I figure it couldn’t hurt to make a Craft Mission out of them in the near future.

My Middle Earth position as of last night is

Still in Hobbiton, crossing a plank bridge. (3 miles)

I hope to pick up the pace soon and get more miles a day.

One of Two and Eleven of Thirteen

    Sunday, December 31st, 2006

Well, here it is folks: The last SPS of 2006.

This weekend I found myself with an opportunity to actually visit with my fellow Hive Queen in person. Smack in the middle of Missouri of all places. Now we’re nice and doubly depressed about the fact that we live hundreds of miles apart.

This is the least blurry of the pictures I got of us. Sorry you can only see a tiny bit of Julie. I’m hoping that some of the pictures on her camera came out alright.

And, of course, the all important shot of our handknit socks-in-use.

Check back next week for a post about about continuing or joining up with SPS in 2007.

    Now live:
