Another Borg post is up (CLICK) but because I really don’t want to neglect this blog because I’m doing stuff over there too, I’ll share photos with you here. The hive only got video, peh!

Well actually first, I must mention that the Leaky Cauldron July Craft-Along (CLICK) opened today. Please go there and craft along with us! I’m hoping to get my supplementary video walkthrough up sooooon.

I made a needlebook the other day. I wanted to see if I could do it. I’m very pleased with it.

I also finished a gift for a really cool kid who’s special to me and happens to like Harry Potter.

I used block patterns by Jennifer / Ofenjen.

Also, I thought I’d share a cute drawing Jamie made. Her skills are getting much more refined. (It used to be all big-headed birds, all the time.)

quick quick update

Tuesday, June 3rd, 2008

Hey.

I’ve not been around online much, true, but I’m around. Emailable and textable and callable, you know. I’m definitely not in sit-still-at-computer mode. Sorry about that.

So. Update.

Jamie had her recital this past weekend. The fam was up for it and Jamie was adorable as always.

She also has a very very loose tooth that is hanging all snaggletoothey from the top front of her mouth. She won’t let me near it.

I finished a sweater yesterday. I love it. Ignore the look on my face– I’m sure it’s just something Justin said while taking my picture.

Today I finished some artwork for my brother James to use on his film company’s website when they get it up, etc. Thankfully, he seems to like it. This is a good thing because it took me FOREVER to get around to doing it.

So. I’m off. I have a movie date tonight. Yay!

I was lying in bed this morning, glasses off, when Jamie burst into tears and begged me to show her how to draw a Moogle. She had decided it was too hard and gave up drawing one on her own. So I rolled over and sketched it with a ballpoint pen. She thought I should share it.

Wacky Wednesday

Wednesday, March 5th, 2008

Today was Wacky Wendesday at school. We went back and forth for awhile about what would be wacky enough for Jamie to wear while still being able to function in class. We ended up with a tutu from Jamie’s tap recital last year, snow boots, glitter hair spray, and quidditch goggles. Mrs. Cloud laughed maniacally at the sight of her.

100th Day

Monday, February 4th, 2008

Hey, I was crafty this week last night the wee hours of this morning.

For the 100th day of school, and I know this sounds familiar to the all the moms with school aged kids, Jamie’s school (or at least the K and first graders) has a 100-things project. Jamie had to wear a shirt to day with 100 things on it.

I cut a bunch of hearts out of felt with my Sizzix (which I then donated to Jamie’s teacher because it was the only time I’ve used the thing in a few years!) and tied them all onto the front of the shirt.

Although a few of them came off within the first 10 minutes of class, she seemed to like it!

Well then.

I spend quite a bit of time thinking about and/or complaining about my lack of time and my inability to do everything I want to do. I’m often frustrated that I can’t keep up with all of my interests. Last night however, I was surprised to sit up and realize that the “regular” day I had been having was actually very productive.

I started the day by trying a new hairstyle with Jamie. Tall pigtails right in front to keep her out-of-control bangs out of her face. Once she was at school, Cian and I got some coffeeshop time as well as knitting time. I had finished some fingerless gloves the day before and celebrated by starting a new shawl project.

The afternoon was relaxed but also managed to not be lazy. When I’m home with the kids I do things here and there, but yesterday I also managed to grab up the guitar and practice a bit several times. I had a cat in my lap or a dog in my lap at various points. Oh yes, fuzzy puppy/kitten time is indeed essential. I also had kids in my lap or sitting on my legs here and there, too, naturally.

I cooked dinner. For the third time this week. I will wait while you regain consciousness.

After dinner we had family TV time (which is actually pretty unusual for us). Pokémon. I cross stitched. CROSS STITCHED, people! I did maybe 2 square inches of stitching in all of 2007. This is huge!

With the kids in bed, I fit in my nightly walk accompanied by an audiobook. I came back and stitched some more.

What I did to deserve a day with more hours, I don’t know. When I spend some time drawing and writing in the next few days I will have everything covered this week. Who knows, I may even feel like I have something to post about.

I have a really full life without even trying too hard. That is exciting to me, and I hope that I can make a habit of not worrying too much about things and letting them happen.

Happy 2008, everyone!

Jamie’s class had a “Thanksgiving Feast” yesterday, which was totally cute. Jamie, of course, ate nothing but the cookies, popcorn, and apples but I just was so overwhelmed by The Cute that I was just comfortably amused.

To round it all off, they sang a few Thanksgivingish songs. It was so stinkin’ cute.

I’m sure only about 4.5 people really care, but I couldn’t not post it ya know?

My girl hobbit leveled up became a year older yesterday. Today she brought Pokéball themed cupcakes to school, made by Grandma and Mommy.

I would show you a gorgeous photo of the new 6-year-old, but I am realizing that I need to put something cute on her and take one. Mental note made.

Also? SPS.

Figured I might as well, since I am here.

Thanksgiving this week. I think I’ll just have cake. And perhaps some mashed potatoes. Mmmm.
